Your Part, Production-Ready on Your Own Machines

For shops and OEMs bringing a part into production in-house, Bern Engineering develops the full machining process and hands it over running, proven, and documented.

Process planning

Operation sequence, machine and tooling selection, setup sheets, and an in-process inspection plan.

Fixture design and manufacture

Fixtures designed in SolidWorks, built in our shop, and delivered with drawings.

CNC programming

Mastercam programs posted for your specific machines and verified before release.

Inspection documentation, operation prints and models, and SPC plans

Inspection documentation written for both shop floor personnel and inspection departments, so operators know what to check at the machine and inspectors have a clear plan for verifying the finished part. Every operation gets its own in-process model and print, verifying that each step sets up the next and the final part stays producible. For production work, SPC plans identify the key characteristics to monitor and how often to measure them, so your process stays in control run after run.

On-site prove-out

At your facility: run first parts, inspect them, tune the program, and train your operators. Available throughout the Northeast.

Multi-operation parts

Bern specializes in complex parts that take multiple operations to get right. When a part has a lot of material removed, the stock is taken down through multiple roughing operations with stress-relieving heat treatment in between, so the part stays stable and the finishing operations can hold the final tolerances.

A good fit for

New part introductions, outsourced work coming back in-house, and processes that are scrapping parts or running too long.
